School Meals need to be ordered 2 weeks in advance.
We engage with Chartwells catering services for our school meals. Chartwells are committed to delighting our customers with great tasting food that contributes to their own wellbeing. We’re proud that all of our menus offer a carefully comprised mix of nutritional and tasty food, which is compliant to government legislation. We also take special care to ensure pupils and students with dietary requirements can experience Chartwells meals if endorsed as being linked to a medical condition.
The school periodically reviews the service agreements and are made aware of any changes to menus and administration, as well as discussing new initiatives.
SEPTEMBER 2023 – The cut of date to order school meals for when we return to school on Wednesday 6th September is SUNDAY 20th AUGUST 2023.
Key Stage 1
All Key Stage 1 children currently receive a universal free school meal but all parents are encouraged to apply for a free school meal benefit if they are entitled to this as there are other subsidies that can be accessed.
Key Stage 2
All Key Stage 2 meals have to be paid for unless the above free school meal entitlement applies.
Key Stage 3
The current cost of a meal is £2.15 per day.
Water is provided.
All school meals can be supplemented by adding items from a salad bar which is accessible 4 times during a normal week.
Meals are delivered from a central hub and heated on site with some preparations carried out by our retail/kitchen team.
Children are supervised throughout the process of selecting and eating their meals by a dedicated lunchtime team.
Families may choose to opt out of the meal scheme and provide their own ‘packed lunch’.
Children in Reception start their lunch at 11.45am.
All other classes eat within the 1 hour allocated time slot.
